ABOUT UPPER
ROOM MINISTRY
Jason and Jen Joling began dreaming of a sustainable, off grid retreat village after Jen returned from a trip to Arizona. Jen traveled to Arizona for a retreat hosted by Dinah Monahan and Psalm 51 Ministry. This retreat was a maiden journey for Jen after completing Dinah's Bible studies "Giving God Your Worst" and "Breaking the Shackles of Shame." While there, Jen knew the midwest needed a retreat village akin to Dinah's Arizona "Robin's Nest." She shared the idea with Jason and they began dreaming with the Lord to bring their plan to life.
Jason slowly started clearing their property of trees to begin the process of digging a pond and readying the land for four yurts, an outdoor kitchen, and an off grid bathroom. The retreat village will be completely off-grid, sustainable, and generate very low overhead.
Jason and Jen plan to utilize their transformed property, estimated to be completed in 2028, to host retreats for the "Freedom Studies" as well as retreats for civil service members like firefighters who have experienced PTSD. Other ministry groups will also be able to utilize the property and it's amenities in the future.
If you would like to help the Joling's raise the estimated $160,000 to launch the Upper Room Ministry, consider donating online or sending a check.
